I’ve been reminded time and again that the success of Hope for Children Ministries is due to how God works through individuals and circumstances for His will to be done.

My last email mentioned the need for Hope for Children International School to earn accreditation. I’m thrilled to report that we’re moving forward to add the finishing touches to the school and become government accredited this year—a crucial step to help our kids be recognized when they graduate!

I feel assured that God is going to make a way as we now face an unexpected issue.

The Rwandan government recently mandated a significant salary increase for teachers throughout Rwanda. We celebrate the value being placed on the teaching profession, but this unexpected and immediate increase is difficult to manage for private schools like Hope for Children International School.

We have already made operating adjustments to accommodate the increase for the next school year. But we face nine more months in the current school year.

Our teachers have chosen to work at Hope for Children International School because they love the kids of Rwanda, and they love Jesus. They know education can break the grip of poverty because it’s what set them free. But like so many in Rwanda trying to improve their lives, we can understand why some teachers would consider taking a government school teaching position offering a higher salary.

That’s why I’m asking you to help us cover our teacher wages for the current school year.

Please sign up to give monthly, increase your monthly giving, or give a one-time gift. We need to raise an additional $2,000 a month so we have the financial resources we need to cover the next nine months of this government-mandated salary increase for our teachers.

Our school educates nearly all of our sponsored children and is a place where they experience the love of Jesus. I trust that God will make a way for us to provide for the teachers at the Hope for Children International School.

And I believe that through this opportunity, God will strengthen our mutual commitment to the sponsored kids and the school.
