When Francisco's sponsor met him on a mission trip in 2019, he was leaning on his father’s shoulder—tired, hungry, and with little expression on his tiny face. In an instant, love sprouted, and she responded to the tug in her heart to become his sponsor.

In a recent conversation, the sponsor joked that if she didn’t know me personally, she would think that the updates we send her with photos of Francisco were of a different child. That’s how much Francisco has changed over the last four years!

Fatigue has been replaced with an energetic smile. Hunger has been replaced with a thirst for knowledge. And his face showcases renewal, beauty, and joy.

Not everyone has the opportunity to travel to Rwanda to see first-hand the needs of these children. I’m thankful for how God works through Hope for Children to bring these children to the attention of sponsors across the world.

If you haven’t visited our website lately, I hope you’ll take some time to click through and learn more about all that we’re doing at Hope for Children Ministries. You can keep tabs on the number of sponsors, learn about ongoing projects, read my blog—and view the faces of the children waiting for a sponsor.

I’m in Wisconsin, my “American” home, through mid-July to spend time with family and friends, meet with donors and sponsors, and attend various events to build awareness for Hope for Children Ministries.

If you have an event or gathering that you think would be the perfect place for me to come, I would love to share what God is doing in Rwanda—through friends like you. You can email me at julie@hopeforchildrenministries.com.

Thank you for helping Hope for Children Ministries live out 1 John 3:18: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

I know we can’t help every child, but together we can make a life-changing impact in the lives of many more children like Francisco.

P.S. If you could give a financial gift to help us continue to meet our short-fall due to the unexpected government mandate to increase teacher salaries, I'd be so grateful. We need an additional $2,000 a month through September.

In Him,
