I want to share a behind-the-scenes story that helps paint a picture of the special people behind Hope for Children Ministries.
There are people involved with the ministry who give so much with no expectation of being recognized. In fact, they would be embarrassed to receive any type of praise. When I saw the photo of these beautiful children in their immaculate school gym uniforms, I decided it was the perfect time to share some details about how the photo came to be.
The sponsored kids who attend Hope for Children International School come from poverty. These kids are lucky to have a shirt to wear, much less a new outfit. So, when they had the opportunity to parade in their new gym clothes, their faces were beaming with excitement and gratitude.
In order to make the uniforms possible, “someone” donated a silhouette, a device to cut the vinyl design for the children’s shirts. And another “someone” ironed the vinyl design onto all those little shirts. A true labor of love!
Hope for Children International School isn’t a rich school—we don’t have the means to order the children’s outfits from a local or online store and have them delivered to the school.
But we are rich with people who love Jesus and follow His example to serve. They give of their time, talents, prayers, and finances to help us care for every Hope for Children child and dress them in a new gym outfit!
We nearly panicked when we learned we would need to raise an additional $2,000 per month through September to cover an unexpected government mandated teacher wage increase. Praise God, there’s been a bunch of “someones” each month to help us meet the need. Four more months to go!
All of you givers—you know who you are—please know how I thank God for you. This is your ministry. Gym outfits and teacher wages wouldn’t be possible without the collective body of every “someone” doing their part.
Thank you! And thank you for your prayers.
