Not too long ago, I was at a concert when a spokesperson took the stage to make an emotional and heart-felt plea for those in the audience to sponsor a needy child in another country.

I listened intently about the poverty, hunger, lack of education, and hopelessness these children face. And I thought about what I would say if I had the opportunity to stand on a stage in front of thousands of people and share the many stories of the children being helped through Hope for Children Ministries.

I would tell them about 1994, when a million people were killed in just 100 days because of their ethnicity. The slaughter left behind unspeakable devastation to a people and a nation—the effects of which the people and the country are recovering from still today.

I would tell them how those who survived—many of them orphaned children—had to become adults all too quickly and faced a new battle of survival—to feed themselves, find shelter, and live with the trauma they endured.

I would tell them how those children are now adults with children of their own—and how the cycle of trauma and poverty has continued.

And then I would tell them how Hope for Children Ministries is making a difference!

Since 2017, Hope for Children Ministries has had a presence in Rwanda caring for children and parents to help them move beyond their lowly circumstances. Through God’s blessing and His working through people like you, we’ve grown into a ministry with 165 sponsored children and 310 children enrolled in our international school!

Hope for Children Ministries is a personal and intimate ministry that is quite unique.

We aren’t focused on solving every problem, we’re focused on doing the work God has for us, where He planted us.

Our smaller size allows us to flex to meet your needs and the needs of sponsored children and to execute on unique opportunities that come our way.

Many of you—our sponsors and supporters—have had the opportunity to personally meet the Rwandan Director, Yves Nyamushanja, and myself.

You can travel to Rwanda to visit your sponsored child and meet the family, or to serve with us throughout the year.

I am accessible, you can reach me directly at julie@hopeforchildrenministries.com.

So, while I haven’t yet had the opportunity to share about Hope for Children Ministries with thousands of people at one time, I take advantage of every opportunity God gives me to tell the stories of the children and the beautiful people—like you—who give of their resources to impact the lives of so many.

As a donor-supported ministry, none of this would be possible without you. Thank you for allowing God to work through you and for listening to the Spirit’s tug in your heart to be a part of what He’s doing in Rwanda.

I hope you’ll consider a generous year-end gift to help Hope for Children Ministries finish the year strong, ready for what God plans to do in the year ahead.

My year-end gift!
Sponsor a child!

God Bless,
